Meet our board certified pediatricians!

Tom Lowry, MD

Dr. Lowry has been a pediatrician with Pediatric Clinic for over 45 years! He went to college at Memphis State University before attending medical school at UT Memphis, then he did his residency training at UT Knoxville. He worked as a pediatrician in the Air Force for two years prior to joining Pediatric Clinic. He is married with four grown children and six grandchildren. He enjoys reading, traveling, antiquing and collecting books and medical memorabilia. Dr. Lowry works at the Karns location Mon, Tues and Wed, and at the West location Thurs.

 
 

Wilson (Bill) Powers, MD

Dr. Powers has been with Pediatric Clinic for over 30 years. He went to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for undergrad then to UT Memphis for medical school. He completed his residency at the University of Kentucky before returning to TN to practice. He is married with six grown children, and he enjoys spending time with his growing number of grandchildren, watersports and watching UT Volunteer sports. Dr. Powers works at the Seymour location Mon, Wed, and Thurs, and at the Karns location Tues and Fri.

 
 

Anil Harsh, MD

Dr. Harsh has been with Pediatric Clinic for over 20 years. He attended SMS Medical College in Jaipur, India, and continued there to do his pediatric residency training. He then moved to England where he worked and trained in neonatology for three years. After moving to the US, he completed another residency in Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. He is married with two grown children and is involved with various international and local non-profit organizations. Dr. Harsh works at the Seymour location Mon-Fri.

 
 
 

Melissa Meyer, MD

Dr. Meyer has been working at Pediatric Clinic for more than 15 years. She went to college here in Knoxville at the University of Tennessee then attended medical school at UT Memphis. She completed residency training at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. She is married with two daughters and enjoys running, cooking and hiking. Dr. Meyer works at the West location Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fri.

 
 

Laura Asbury, MD

Dr. Asbury started working at the Pediatric Clinic in 2010. She studied at Furman University in Greenville, SC, before attending medical school at UT Memphis. She did her residency training at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. She enjoys serving on mission trips, reading, travel and loves going on adventures with her two sons. Dr. Asbury works at the West location Mon and Thurs all day, and Fri mornings.

 
 

Stephanie Russ-Barber, MD

Dr. Stephanie joined Pediatric Clinic in 2012. She studied at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, before attending medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida prior to returning to Georgia. She practiced pediatrics for a total of 10 years (in GA and SC) before moving to Knoxville and joining Pediatric Clinic. She is married with four children and enjoys cooking and arts and crafts. Dr. Stephanie works at the Karns location Mon and Fri, and at the West location Tues and Wed.

 
 

Meghan Peters, MD

Dr. Peters joined Pediatric Clinic in 2014 shortly after completing residency training. She started her undergraduate study at Wake Forest University prior to transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to attend pharmacy school. She worked as a pharmacist for two years before going to medical school at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, then did her residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, CO. She is married with one son and enjoys running, swimming, boating and traveling. Dr. Peters works at the Seymour location Tues and Fri, and at the Karns location Wed and Thur.

 
 

Kristy Carter, MD

Dr. Carter is our newest addition to Pediatric Clinic. She started here in 2017 but practiced in Georgia for eight years prior to joining us. She went to college at the University of Georgia and medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency training at Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, SC, prior to returning to Georgia. She is married with three children and enjoys reading, hiking, climbing, singing and sewing. Dr. Carter works at the West location Tues, Wed, and Fri, and at the Karns location Thurs.

 
 

Dr. Alex Ruth and Dr. Charles Machen have recently retired, but any of our current providers are happy to continue seeing their patients.

 
 

Practice Manager – Jackalyn McAnally, MBA

Jack has been a part of the Pediatric Clinic family for over 15 years. She came to work at Pediatric Clinic as a Clinical Medical Assistant in 2002 and was later promoted to Clinical Lead for the West location. In early 2015 she became a Practice Manager at ETCH after completing her MBA at Bethel University. She returned to Pediatric Clinic in December 2015 as our Practice Manager for all three locations. She is married with two daughters and enjoys hiking, camping, reading and escaping to the mountains.
